Absolutely, the Career Development Programme is fully funded by the European Social Fund and Welsh Government. As such the only cost to you or your employer is your time commitment.

  • Initial getting to know you meeting – 1½ hours.
  • Accredited learning sessions – 5/6 days delivered over 1 day per fortnight for 10/12 weeks. During this time you will also be required to complete and submit 3 assignments which typically take around 12 – 20 hours of your own time to complete depending on the level of qualification.
  • Post course review meeting – 1 hour to be held approximately 4 weeks after completion of your accredited learning.
  • Pick and Mix Modules – there are a rolling programme of learning events happening near you to add to your knowledge and skills. They last from 1-3 hours each and are held at various times to suit you. You can take part in as many of these learning events as you need and typically you’ll attend 2-3 of these dependant on what would support your career development.
  • Final programme review meeting – 1 hour to be held approximately 9 months after starting the programme.

Typically you would spend around 9 months taking part in various elements of the programme and receiving the support, coaching and learning to help you reach your full potential.

All meetings will usually take place within normal working hours, however we will always do our best to arrange to meet with you at a time that suits you and your workplace.

The accredited learning sessions (5 or 6 days) take place between 9.30 – 4.30pm so you will need to make sure you have organised time out of the workplace for these sessions.

The Pick and Mix modules are delivered at various times either in morning, lunchtime, late afternoon or evening slots so there’s bound to be something to suit you.

We would strongly encourage you to gain the support of your employer to take part as the majority of the programme will be delivered during normal working hours.

Having the full backing of your employer will also enhance your development as your learning can be translated back into your working life and your new skills, knowledge and confidence will be more easily recognised in your workplace.

However, if you choose to take part in your own time and don’t want us to contact your employer that’s fine.

We can meet with you either at our offices, your workplace, or a convenient venue nearby. The accredited learning sessions are run in venues across Wales and we make sure that each of our training venues are accessible by foot, car or public transport.

If you’d like to make the leap from team member to team leader then this programme is for you. Or maybe you’ve recently been promoted to manage a small team but don’t have any experience of managing people – this programme of learning, confidence building and personal development has been designed to give you the knowledge and skills you need to become an effective manager.

Whatever your age, stage, confidence levels or previous qualifications we can support you to know more, do more and be more in your career.

This programme is designed for you. Our experienced People Development Partners are passionate about supporting women to be the best they can be and will be there to support you through every stage, whether that’s guidance on completing your assignments or advice on developing your career plan.
